Deep sleep, warmth, seeking security

Interpretation

CThe cat curls into a tight ball, tail wrapped over its nose, ears tucked. This is the warmest sleeping position — minimizing surface area to reduce heat loss while using the tail to warm the nose. In the wild, this posture also protects all vulnerable organs. A cat in a ball is usually in deep sleep. If you see whiskers or paws twitching slightly, it may be dreaming.

How to respond

Don't disturb it — let it sleep peacefully. Cats need 12-16 hours of sleep per day.
