Tail Tip Quiver

Extreme excitement, anticipation

Tension
Relaxed

Interpretation

The tail stands upright but the tip quivers rapidly, like sending a telegraph. This isn't fear — quite the opposite, the cat is thrilled! Common triggers: opening a can, coming home, or spotting a bird through the window. Some cats do this when they see a favorite person. The quiver releases facial pheromones — the cat is “marking” you as theirs.

How to respond

Give it what it wants — food, petting, or attention. It's expressing a strong desire.
